An evolution of the Today page in Trailblazer, but with an expanded purview. A destination for all future ideas: career paths, the career marketplace, rewards and gamification, progressive profiling, global preference center, etc. It also provides a global profile menu that provides hints of activity and clear pathways to daily actions.

We considered which factors make a website successful, analyzing Riot’s primary competitors, as well as best in class examples, including:
We scanned every page on riotgames.com, as well as several pages on other URLs (think Universe, LeagueofLegends.com, etc.), to evaluate the content and performance of the current experience.
We did this through sharing stories about prospective and current users of RiotGames.com, focusing on their needs and goals from the site. Our data for these stories were based on what we discovered in our mobile ethnographies and one to one in depth user interviews.
Through our research, we were able to identify core themes which narrowed our focus to begin the product ideation phase of the project.
3 hours of collaborative workshops, spanned across 2 days, helped us identify key strategic insights and opportunity areas for the future Riot games experience.
Through a combination of UX design, content strategy and visual design, we were able to envision what the future of Riot Games might look like.
After iterating on several different concepts for top level UX and content strategy, we built out several different versions of sitemaps to accommodate the future state ideas.
We didn’t stop at the homepage - we thoughtfully incorporated the entire Riot ecosystem in to the new sitemap. The ecosystem is so much more than what’s on RG - so we turned it into a gateway.

We were able to bring to life our concepts through high level UX and Visual Design to better illustrate the core features and function of each individual experience.
We worked with potential users to talk them through each concept and have them score how each concept would fit into their lives.
We were now able to identify the core concepts which were appealing to prospective users while also learning valuable insights along the way on how to better evolve each and every concept.
